After graduating with a B. Com from Otago Uni in 2001, she became a chartered accountant achieving her public practising certificate in 2014. Her accounting career commenced in Invercargill then transferred to Gore, where Cheryl learned the basics of her craft. 2012 saw a change in focus when she worked as a fisherman on deep sea trawlers fishing out of Timaru. That was fun but her passion was in helping everyday businesses and watching them grow to their full potential.  So back to live in her family’s hometown of Bluff, joining the team at Flintoffs with renewed enthusiasm for her profession. In 2016 she became the firms newest partner, bringing a wealth of experience particularly relating to commercial and small business, charities, and community groups. Cheryl has a varied client base with local, national and international clients.  One of her passions is to make a real difference in the community, and in the past year she has become involved with the Graeme Dingle foundation mentoring at risk and disadvantaged youth in the Southland region. Recreational time is spent between her love of the sea, photography, bone carving, and riding her Harley!

Doug came into accounting by a road less travelled: Venturing forth in youthful enthusiasm from a secluded hill country valley and completing a B. Agri Sci at Massey, and heading to Southland for a stint as a MAF Farm Advisor in Southern Southland.
Following that was a period  valuing and farm consulting based in Dannevirke, ( a worse climate than Southland), then returning to Southland for an 11 year tenure at the then Southland Polytech, teaching Trade Cert Farming and Farm Management. And (unbelievably, in the light of his current tech phobia), some computer classes too! Things were different in those days, “e” was for entertainment as much as it was for education. Studying some Otago Uni accounting papers (near enough I say ) then teaming up with Brett to help establish Flintoffs twenty odd ( very odd) years ago focusing on working with farming clients. Doug now brings 40 years of experience in farm and small business management to the table, with a practical approach and an emphasis on communication.
